The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, opened the door this Monday to present a motion of censure to the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with the support of Junts if it is “useful” in an “appropriate context”.

This has been expressed in an interview on Antena3, in which the opposition leader has been asked if it is “science fiction” to think that, if the PP achieves a resounding victory in the European elections on June 9, it will be considered present a motion of censure against Sánchez with the possible support of Junts.

After stating that he wants to be “a predictable politician” and “respectful of institutions”, and away from “fictional politics”, Feijóo has set his sights on the appointment with the polls this Sunday, where he defends that his party is the only one “alternative” to Sánchez. And he has asserted that, if the “social majority that does not agree with what is happening in this environment of political corruption and economic corruption in which Spain operates” and the “paralysis” of the country “becomes an electoral majority” , On June 9, “a message” will have been sent and “the end of the tunnel” will be “closer.”

“What tools are we going to use? All the ones we consider appropriate. Is the one you refer to a tool? Yes, but for that you have to have the appropriate context and think that it can be useful in that context. That’s what I can tell you to be a little serious,” he declared.

The governance of Catalonia

On the other hand, with respect to the governability of Catalonia, Feijóo has been convinced that “a possible pact between PSC and the leader of Junts, Carles Puigdemont, is being hidden,” as is the status of Sánchez’s wife under investigation. , Begoña Gómez, in the case that investigates whether she incurred influence peddling in her professional activity.

In this context, he has been convinced that “whatever Puigdemont says” will happen because “he can demand reciprocity from Mr. Sánchez” after making him president of the Government as second force at the polls. Finally, he once again rejected support for the PSC candidate, Salvador Illa, because they are “very skeptical” after what happened in the Barcelona Mayor’s Office, where they supported Jaume Collboni so that the socialists would later incorporate ERC into the municipal government.
