The Prime Minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, He was injured this Wednesday after being shot at the end of a government meeting held in the city of Handlova, in the center of the country, in an incident that his party, Smer, links to the opposition. Moments before the attempted attack, the prime minister was surrounded by his bodyguards, who greeted the followers who were waiting for him. It is precisely at that precise moment that Cintula takes the opportunity to shoot Fico and leave him seriously injured. “They were fast, one by one, as if they were throwing a firecracker to the ground”explained a witness who was at the scene of the events.

Shortly after, two agents carry the wounded president to the official car, while others reduce the shooter to the ground. With Fitso already out of the scene, plainclothes police officers brandish weapons, on alert and surrounding the area. The author has been taken into custody by the agents and they kept him immobilized on the ground, then they picked him up to take him into custody. The Slovak police have published a video in which the badly injured writer is seen justifying the reason why he had shot the prime minister: “I do not agree with the government’s policy”.
