Frank Tyson, a 53-year-old black man, has died at the hands of a United States Police officer during an arrest in Ohio. A video of the moment in which the man repeats, desperate, that “can’t breathe” It has caused controversy and the agents involved are being investigated. This is a new case of police violence that is very reminiscent of the George Floyd casewhich unleashed a wave of protests against police brutality and racism.

In the video that the police have made public, an agent is seen who pins the man to the ground while driving his knee into him on the back, near the neck. In the images you can hear how the victim keeps repeating that she can’t breathe.

It all happened when the Police received a tip and went to a bar where a man who had just crashed his vehicle was hiding. When he arrives, they ask him to come out: “Let’s go outside!” He refuses and says: “You’re going to kill me, you’re going to kill me!” Therefore, he resists and begins the struggle and assures that “they are trying to kill him”: “He is going to kill me!”

The agents ended up knocking him to the ground and several agents tried to forcibly immobilize him, asking him to calm down. At that moment, one of them places his knee on the neck of the detainee, without letting him breathe. At that moment, he repeatedly repeats the same phrase that Floyd reiterated: “I can’t breathe! I can’t breathe!”

This is a dangerous detention method reminiscent of the arrest and murder of George Floyd, and, now the end has been the same. They tried to revive him but he ended up dying in the hospital, and what happened is being investigated. At the same time, a journalistic investigation has revealed that even 94 deaths of people under police custody between 2012 and 2021 occurred after administering sedatives such as Ketamine. They do it, they say, to calm the detainee, but a higher dose can be lethal.
