The Francis Scott Key Bridge in the city of Baltimore (USA) collapsed last Tuesday as a result of a boat crash cargo ship against one of its pillars causing its absolute collapse. Three days after the accident, we have been able to see new images that correspond to the bridge’s traffic cameras and the instant before the structure collapses.
As you can see in the images the ship approaches the bridge while repair work is being carried out on the bridge.
Traffic cameras show the significant volume of vehicles circulating on the bridge in Baltimore despite it being almost half past one in the morning. At the point where the camera records minutes before the accident, up to eight trucks can be seen, which demonstrates the magnitude of the tragedy that could have reached if the authorities do not react quickly.
Alerted that the ship had just lost control, the authorities asked for traffic to stop.. Moments later, traffic was cut off, preventing more vehicles from crossing.
In the images you can see how the last cars circulate on the Francis Scott Key. After cutting off traffic, only the repair teams remained, precisely the area where the ship appears. In the images you can see how she gets closer until she ends in a tragedy.
