United States condemns attack in Moscow; Ukraine tries to stop accusations

“I hope it does not serve as a pretext for an escalation of a war that should never have started,” he said in statements to Portuguese journalists on the sidelines of an event at the Portuguese embassy in Paris.

Ukraine speaks out

In the midst of the conflict that has been going on for more than a year with Russia, the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyaccused his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, on Saturday of trying to “place the blame” on Ukraine of the terrorist attack.

“What happened yesterday in Moscow is obvious: Putin and the other bastards are trying to blame others” for the attack, which was claimed by the Islamic State (IS) organization, Zelensky declared, after Russian leaders mentioned the existence of a Ukrainian clue in the massacre.
