The issue of EU funding for ammunition. There is a government move. “We will submit an application”

Poland will receive a small amount from the European Union for the purchase of ammunition. Deputy Minister of State Assets Marcin Kulasek announced that Poland will try to organize a new competition in Brussels. He blamed Jacek Sasin and Mariusz Błaszczak for the low subsidy, and he did not rule out the possibility of bringing the case to the State Tribunal.

– The PiS government bears full responsibility for the results of the competition announced by the European Commission for co-financing for EU arms companies – said Marcin Kulasek, deputy minister of MAP, at a press conference. Between October 18 and December 13 last year, applications had to be prepared and submitted to the European Union for subsidies to increase the production of tank and artillery ammunition. This is the declining period of Mateusz Morawiecki’s government. Therefore, the new government blames its predecessors for the fact that Poland will receive only EUR 2 million in funding from the pool of EUR 500 million. This is only 0.4 percent.

– Applications had to be submitted from the beginning of October to December 13 last year, i.e. while PiS was in power (…) If we have hard facts about negligence, we do not rule out bringing Jacek Sasin and Mariusz Błaszczak before the State Tribunal – announced Kulasek.

Three Polish companies applied for funding: Dezamet, which belongs to the Polish Armaments Group, and Nitrochem and Mesko. Only the first one was granted funding because the rest did not meet the criteria. – Applications were assessed in six categories, each with a maximum of 10 points, giving a total of 60 points. The Dezamet company scored 57.5 points, while Mesko and Zakłady Chemiczne Nitrochem only 29.5 points. A detailed description and assessment of the applications will be forwarded by the European Commission directly to the companies and substantive justifications will be included there – explained the deputy minister, admitting that the companies did not receive support from Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, which was managed by MAP.

Nitrochem and Mesko now have 30 days to appeal this decision. However, Donald Tusk’s government has a different idea for obtaining more funding for Poland. – We will submit an application to the European Commission to launch a new competition – announced Marcin Kulesk at a press conference.
