The projects selected by the Commission cover five areas: explosives, gunpowder, cartridges, projectiles and testing and refurbishment certification. The projects will be financed with EUR 513 million from the budgets of the European Union and Norway. The ASAP (Act in Support of Ammunition Production) program is intended to support projects increasing annual production capacity by over 10,000. tons of gunpowder and over 4.3 thousand tons of explosives.
“The companies receiving ASAP funding and their supply chains are spread across the European Union. Support is provided to strengthen existing production capacities, as well as to build new ones. The completed projects will increase the responsiveness and capacity of the EU defense industry, ensuring faster deliveries of ammunition and missiles in Europe,” we read.
