NBA suspens games due to Covid-19 outbreak among players

Dozens of NBA players have entered the protocol against the coronavirus in recent days. The first arose in the Cleveland Cavaleriers.

At least two of the NBA games this Sunday were suspended due to the wave of covid-19 cases teams face, US media reported.

The postponed games are the one that the Atlanta Hawks were going to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers and that of the Brooklyn Nets against the Denver Nuggets, ESPN reported.

With this measure they add up for now three games postponed so far this campaign because of the coronavirus, after the Chicago Bulls’ two-game suspensions, against the Detroit Pistons and Toronto Raptors, this week.

Sunday’s first game suspended was due to an outbreak within the Cleveland Cavaleriers, which in the last hours saw five players test positive for COVID-19, including center Jarrett Allen, according to ESPN.

In the second, the Nets were in the picture with a dozen players removed from the team, including his three superstars: Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden.

At least a third game of the day on Sunday, between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Philadelphia 76ers, was at risk of being suspended as well because the latter team had difficulty reaching the minimum of eight available players.
