This Wednesday, North Korea test-launched several unidentified cruise missiles into the sea from the east coast of the territory, the South Korean Army reported. The projectiles were fired into waters northeast of Wonsan, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said in a statement, adding that “the South Korean intelligence authorities South Korea and the United States are carrying out a detailed analysis” of the launch.
“Our military is cooperating closely with the U.S. while strengthening surveillance and watching for signs of additional North Korean activities,” the military added.
Today’s is the Pyongyang’s fifth cruise missile launch this year. The North Korean regime has raised tension on the Korean Peninsula with various weapons tests in 2024, including tests of cruise missiles from land and sea, or the launching of artillery in waters near the inter-Korean maritime border.
North Korea has also been announcing that it is developing new weapons for its arsenalwhich has caused Seoul and its allied countries to tighten surveillance over the country.
