Arab countries describe attack that killed three US soldiers as “terrorist”

Saudi Arabia and Egypt They described this Monday as “terrorist” the drone attack that caused the death of three American soldiers on the border between Jordan and Syriawhich was claimed by the pro-Iranian militia group Islamic Resistance in Iraq.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry condemned the attack in a statement and renewed “the kingdom’s firm support for the intensification of international efforts to eliminate terrorism and extremism in all their forms and manifestations, as well as exhaust their sources of financing.”

On a similar note, Egyptian Foreign Affairs also stressed “the need to confront all forms of terrorism”in addition to “reject all forms of violence to guarantee stability in the region” from the Middle East.

The president of the United States, Joe Biden, announced on Sunday that three American soldiers were killed in that drone attack in northeast Jordan, near the border with Syria.

For its part, the Jordanian Government has indicated that it was produced from outside its territory and that it targeted the US base at Al Tanf.

The attack was claimed by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a group of militias backed by Iran that has carried out more than a hundred attacks against US troops stationed in Iraq and Syria since the outbreak of the war in the Gaza Strip on December 7. October.

These repeated attacks have caused injuries to around 70 American soldiers, although this is the first time that an action by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq has ended the lives of American soldiers.

Washington has assured that it will respond to this attack, while the Government of Iran insisted this Monday that it does not give orders to the members of the informal Axis of Resistance alliance, made up of the Lebanese group Hezbollah, the pro-Iran militias of Iraq or the rebels.
