According to this news website, with access to high-ranking sources among Israeli authorities, the Government of Benjamin Netanyahu has sent Egypt and Qatar a proposal in which it proposes a ceasefire in the enclave of about two months in exchange for the release of the captives.

More than 130 people are still being held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Brett McGurk, advisor to the president of the United States, Joe Bidenhas held talks in Cairo (Egypt) seeking his release, as well as the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

White House spokesman John Kirby, has stated that Biden supports a temporary ceasefire that allows the release of hostages. Israel has always refused to end the war against Hamas, although with this position it would accept the longest ceasefire that has occurred to date in the conflict.
