Poles can receive several pensions. These conditions must be met to receive the money

People who have worked in several European countries can receive pensions from each of these countries, provided they meet certain conditions. EU regulations also provide them with additional benefits, including: with insurance experience and disability pension.

Poles who have worked in several countries or the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland) can receive separate pensions from each of these countries. You only need to meet the conditions required in individual countries and submit the appropriate documents.

People who want to receive several benefits from different countries do not have to submit separate applications in each of them. Only one application is required and must be submitted in your country of residence. The insurance institution of a given country will forward the documents to all other countries.

EU regulations allow insurance periods from other EU countries to be added to the Polish pension

The regulations in force in the European Union make it easier to obtain a pension or disability pension for people who have worked in several countries. If the Polish insurance period is too short for a given person to be entitled to the benefit, ZUS adds insurance periods from other EU and EFTA countries.

When a person loses the ability to perform work during the insurance period in another EU or EFTA country, ZUS will consider that the condition for granting a Polish disability pension has been met. In turn, retirees who live outside Poland may receive benefits from ZUS to their foreign account.
