Alejandro Vigil, the “Messi of wines”, opens a second restaurant in Miami

Casa Vigil, the Argentine restaurant of world-famous winemaker Alejandro Vigil, known as the “Messi of wines” by the Michelin Guide, opened in Miami (Florida, USA.) its second location, intended to “create an educational and immersive journey in the world of wine.”

Casa Vigil, which debuted in Mendoza (Argentina) in 2015, has recently received its first Michelin star and a Michelin green star, and is listed in ‘The World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ guide as the best restaurant and bar in Latin America.

Customers can sample wines from affordable, exotic and rare vintages, each reflecting the distinctive terroir of Mendoza, among other wine regions around the world.

“We are delighted to bring the essence of Mendoza to Miami with the opening of our second location. “We not only want to offer exceptional wines, but also create an environment where customers can delve deeper into the art and science of winemaking,” Vigil said in a statement.

The winemaker expressed his conviction that ”The unique combination of our wines, cuisine and atmosphere will provide a memorable experience for our guests.”

According to the release, the two-story, upscale, rustic-style restaurant, located in the heart of Upper Buena Vista“brings a food and wine experience to Miami with its menu of Mediterranean and Argentine influences, designed to pair perfectly with its unique and high-quality wines.”

Under the direction of chef César González Aznar, an expert in Mediterranean cuisine, Casa Vigil Miami offers a five-course tasting menu with three levels of wine pairings, all carefully designed to maximize flavors and introduce new regions, vintages and styles.

Customers can also order a la carte for a more shared experience and enjoy dishes such as empanadas, platters and meats made with the highest quality sustainable ingredients.

Likewise, clients participate in wine tastings, guided by award-winning sommelier Miguel Martínez.

Alejandro Vigil has become a guru for wine lovers around the world. Recognized as ‘Winemaker of the Year’ by Tim Atkins in 2019, Vigil is one of the most awarded winemakers and enthusiasts in the Americas.
