At least six people have diedincluding a minor, due to a fire that destroyed a hostel in the Tohani village (Romania), located about 90 kilometers north of Bucharest. The emergency services moved to the place, where 26 people were housed, although 18 of them were able to get out on their own, as confirmed by the Romanian emergency authorities.

Dozens of troops have participated in the fire extinguishing tasks, which broke out at dawn for unknown reasons in the upper part of the building. Firefighters have been removing successive charred victims from the rubble of the hostel, including a minor identified as the owner’s son, state channel TVR reports.

The authorities have already confirmed that the establishment, built of wood and located in the Prahova Valleydid not have a specific fire safety permit.

The area affected by the flames is about 1,000 square meters. According to Radio Romania International, the affected establishment is Dacilor Farm, a hostel created in 2013 “intended as a family project”, with several wooden cabins built in a traditional way.
