They vandalize the Argentine embassy in Chile with messages against the president: “Out with Milei”

The wall of the Argentine embassy in Chile, located in the heart of Santiago, was the subject of scratches and graffiti this Wednesday against the new Argentine president, the ultra-conservative. Javier Mileihours before the first demonstration against him called in the city of Buenos Aires.

”From Santiago to Buenos Aires, the fight continues for 22 years. Out Milei”, is read in the message written in front of the diplomatic headquarters, in reference to the commemoration of the 22nd anniversary of the violent protests that in 2001 resulted in 39 deaths and the resignation of the then president, the radical Fernando de la Rúa (1999 -2001).

Pamphlets were also thrown outside the building and a flag was hung with the motto: “Whoever governs, the people always lose. Milei “You are the caste.”

“At an undetermined time, individuals threw paint in front of the embassy, causing no major damage to the interior or surroundings of the building itself.”explained Colonel Fernando Albornoz, member of the Santiago Central Prefecture, to the press.

Albornoz added that the events are under investigation by Carabineros and that they were reported. The action against the Argentine president occurred a few hours before the first protests against him called in the neighboring country by social and left-wing organizations against his economic plan.

The event brought together far fewer protesters than the 50,000 initially planned and resulted in isolated incidents and two arrests. Milei assumed the position of president of Argentina on December 10 after winning the elections against the official candidate (Peronism). Sergio Massa by 56% of the votes.
