With the intention of increasing the competitiveness of local tournaments and strengthening clubs, Conmebol resolved to distribute US $ 1 million to each member association, including the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), in 2022, the sports organization officially announced this Tuesday.
Each association will have the power to divide the amount into up to two prizes and determine the amount that the champions will receive. Conmebol groups ten federations.
The sum will be delivered at the end of 2022, remarked a statement from Conmebol.
“Conmebol not only aims to raise the quality of its own competitions but also to make a decisive contribution to improve the tournaments of each country and make them more attractive and competitive by awarding this award to the champions.”, Specified the announcement.
The establishment of the award was endorsed by the Conmebol Council that met this Tuesday virtually for the last time in the year.
Among other resolutions, the Council resolved to set the entity’s ordinary congress for April 1, 2022 in Doha, Qatar.
