The artificial intelligence (AI) arrived this Sunday at the electoral pre-campaigns in Mexico and the only opposition candidate Xochitl Galvez will have its own spokesperson powered by this technology: iXóchitl.
This is not the first time that the candidate of the Frente Amplio por México uses AI to spread a position or a message to encourage votes in her favor.
However, the pre-candidate of the National Action (PAN), Institutional Revolutionary (PRI) and Democratic Revolution (PRD) parties stated that she will now have a new spokesperson powered by artificial intelligence.
“I want to announce that starting today we will implement a special spokesperson with artificial intelligence, many of you have seen my videos made with this technology and today we have decided to make this route official,” he shared on his X account (formerly Twitter).
The only opposition candidate clarified that generative AI makes time and economic resources efficient, as she assured that it is very quick to have the material and it is very cheap, “Which is perfect when you’re doing tingo and tango and with little money.”
According to what was announced by Gálvez, all content will have his endorsement and supervision prior to being shared and he specified that the official route will be through his official accounts on social networks.
“So, starting today, there is Xóchitl, that is me (the AI), I will be one of the spokespersons for the pre-candidate. I will have your endorsement, your supervision and your approval of the messages and they will be permanently hosted in your social networks”, said the new spokesperson iXóchitl.
