Israel suffers a trickle of support. The barbarism and terror established in Gaza by Netanyahu’s troops are causing widespread international criticism. The situation in the Strip is an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe: more than 18,000 civilians have died, almost half of them are children, and the cities suffer greater destruction than German towns during World War II.

Those who have gone to the Strip to carry out humanitarian aid work describe an absolutely desolate scenario. “Our companions were stained with blood and children’s feces from the fear they had before they died,” explained Ricardo Martínez, from the Emergency Unit of Doctors Without Borders, in an interview with Cadena Ser after returning from the enclave.

In a very harsh story, the international aid worker has described how his colleagues have had to select “very carefully” who they can still save their lives and with whom “there is nothing more to do.”

“Living in Gaza is a daily challenge. When your colleagues greet you in the morning they say: ‘everything is fine, today I am alive’“, he explained. In addition, he has indicated what the health conditions are in an enclave that is absolutely besieged, bombed and with hardly any basic health and food resources: “You have to be careful not to get sick, because if you get sick you have a good chance of dying from infectious diseases as a result of the brutal overcrowding of people there.

Ricardo Martínez has assured that “there is no humanitarian aid” and that the water and food that reach the Gaza Strip are “totally insufficient.”
