A earthquake of magnitude 5.8 with an epicenter in Puebla, a state in central Mexico, activated the seismic alert in Mexico City this Thursday and shook different areas of the country.

The National Seismological Service (SSN) located the epicenter 25 kilometers south of Chiautla de Tapia, in the central state of Puebla.

Earthquake reports

At the moment, “no damage reported in Mexico City”, Mayor Martí Batres reported on his X account.

The Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, immediately contacted Civil Protection authorities to find out about potential damages.
