Poland will not get money from KPO soon? European Commissioner: I don’t see such a possibility anymore

– However, the position of the European Commission is clear: the independence of the judiciary, liquidation of the Disciplinary Chamber, reinstatement of judges removed from adjudication. All of this must be resolved without delay. It is not allowed to punish Polish citizens who expect the government to focus on what will determine the future of Poland, including the ecological and digital transformation, added the representative of the European Commission.

“Money for the rule of law”? Breton: Obligations under the treaties

The politician also referred to the possibility of suspending payments from EU funds. It is possible that the European Commission will activate the “money for the rule of law” mechanism. This will mean that not only the KPO, but also traditional EU transfers may be withheld.

– In the 2003 referendum, Poles supported accession to the Union with an overwhelming majority of votes. Even then, there were obligations under the treaties, they have not changed. They were designed to protect the rights of all of us, said Breton.

United Right politicians often question the sense of Poland’s presence in the EU. They claim that our country lost money on it. Meanwhile, according to Mikołaj Fidziński, Poland “purely”, ie after deducting membership fees, has already received about PLN 630 billion from the European Union.
