Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has denounced that Russia is trying destabilize Ukraine creating a confrontation between him and the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian Army, Valerii Zaluzhnyi. In the last few hours, a fake video of Zaluzhnyi calling, supposedly, to a coup d’état.

From Kyiv, Alberto Sicilia explained that the alert was raised after the spread of the rumor of a coup d’état with a false video in which, supposedly, the head of the Ukrainian Army called to rise up against Zelensky. The Ukrainian authorities have assured that it is false and have accused Russia to be behind that operation.

What is certain is that Ukraine is going through a politically delicate moment for two reasons. The first thing is that the summer and autumn counteroffensive has not achieved the objectives that was expected. And the second is that the military aid promised by US President Joe Biden has still not been approved by the US Congress, and Ukrainians fear that it will not be approved if Donald Trump wins the elections.

Finland has also accused Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to destabilize his country. This time, using migrants from Iraq, Yemen and Somalia, who crossed the Finnish border with Russia this week. The Finnish authorities have left the door open to close “the whole border“with Russia if necessary to stop the arrival of asylum seekers and migrants in an irregular situation, facts that they consider that Moscow is fueling and encouraging.

“We think that, if necessary, the entire eastern border would be closed“, said the Minister of Defense of Finland, Antti Hakkanen, who has thus sent a “very clear” message to Russia to stop encouraging border crossings.
