The US and Israel make preparations for a possible visit by Biden, according to media

USA and Israel They are making the necessary preparations for a possible visit by the American president, Joe Bidento Israeli territory, the American network CNN and the Axios portal reported this Sunday.

According to Axios, citing US and Israeli officials, Biden’s visit could take place at the end of next week.

Asked by EFE, Adrienne Watson, the spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, in charge of foreign policy, said: “We have no new trips to announce.”

A visit by Biden would represent a significant demonstration of support for Israel, the United States’ main ally in the Middle East, and would occur just after the tour of the region by Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who will meet tomorrow Monday in Israel with the country’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Biden spoke with Netanyahu on Saturday, in what marked the fifth phone call between the two since the October 7 attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, to which Israel responded by declaring a state of war and bombing the Gaza Strip.

The Hamas attack has left 1,400 dead in Israel, the worst massacre in its history.

In the Strip, the deaths in nine days of war exceed 2,670, the highest number in the history of the enclave – which already has more deaths than in the 2014 conflict that lasted 55 days – and the wounded total 9,600.

According to the latest data provided on Sunday by the State Department, 30 US citizens have died in the attacks. It was not specified whether the victims died as a result of attacks by Hamas or Israel.

Additionally, according to the State Department, 13 American citizens are missing.
