The Security Council of the UN will meet on Sunday to discuss the terrorist attacks by the Islamist group Hamas this Saturday against Israel and the escalation of the conflict between the country and the Palestinian Territories.
According to the agenda of the highest decision-making body of the UNthe session will be held behind closed doors and will focus on “the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.”
Brazil, which holds the Presidency of the Security Council, said this Saturday that it would call an “emergency meeting” of the body in the face of the serious escalation of violence between Israel and the Palestinian Territories.
Israel today declared a state of war after Palestinian militias in Gaza, led by the Islamist movement Hamas, launched a surprise and unprecedented operation, with more than a thousand rockets and infiltration into Israeli territory.
According to the latest figures, there are already more than 100 dead in Israel due to the surprise attack by land, sea and air from Gaza by the Islamist group Hamas and the injured exceed 900, at a time when the escalation of the war continues and the situation is overflowed
