The British Police arrested three relatives this Wednesday, the father, the stepmother and the uncle, of 10-year-old girl found dead with multiple blows inside his father’s house, on the outskirts of London. The autopsy revealed that he died after severe blows and trauma, but these relatives speak of an “incident.”

It was the father himself, Urfan Sharif, who confessed to the death to the police in a phone call on August 10. She did it since Pakistan, where he fled to hide with his current wife, his brother and five children. Among them, Sara’s older brother.

After weeks hiding in the most remote part of the Asian country, Urfan and his partner published a video on social networks, in which they talked about the homicide. Beinash Batool, the stepmother of the deceased minor, stated: “Sara’s death was an incident. Our families in Pakistan are severely affected by what is happening.” The five minors in their care have been placed in the hands of Pakistani social services.

This Wednesday night, on a flight from Dubai, the three adults involved in the tragic murder were returning to the United Kingdom. It was the culmination of an intense international police search. Mark Chapman, Superintendent of Surrey Police, confirmed that “two men, aged 41 and 28; and a woman, aged 29, were arrested for alleged murder”.

They were arrested as soon as they landed. The police boarded the plane and took them into custody while the rest of the passengers watched astonished. With the arrests, Olga Sharif, Sara’s mother, opens the door to hope that justice will be done for her little girl.

Devastated by grief, the mother and grandmother go to the makeshift altar in memory of little Sara. Sylwia Kurz, maternal grandmother, can’t hold back her tears: “That wasn’t Sara. She was completely deformed.” Olga Sharif recalls how hard it was to see the body of her daughter: “One of his cheeks was swollen. The other one, with bruises”.
