The president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyenwill give this Wednesday the 13th the speech on the state of the European Union in the plenary session of the European Parliament located in Strasbourg, France. This speech will be the last of this legislature before European elections to be held in 2024.

The message, which can be followed live on streaming from 9:00 a.m. on these lines, will serve as a balance of his mandate, marked from the beginning by the management of the coronavirus crisis and, later, by the war in Ukraine, which has forced us to rethink the way of addressing the legislature’s priorities.

It is expected that both the Russian invasion and the green, digital and social agenda mark this debate on the state of the EU, also called SOTEU, for its acronym in English. As usual, Von der Leyen will give his speech from the European Parliament chamber, and will last around an hour.

In this same article we will detail the content of the European leader’s speech, which she will later debate with the MEPs.
