“Shufutin’s Day”: Russians meet the “Third of September”

Jokes about the composition of Mikhail Shufutinsky “The Third of September” have become commonplace for Russians. On this day, and even on the 2nd, social networks begin to fill with new memes about “Shufutin’s Day”, “burning bonfires of mountain ash”, and themed events are held in some cities.

And this year the song was not forgotten. In St. Petersburg, for example, residents of the Frunzensky district were invited to the “Bonfires of Rowan” holiday, writes the gorod-plus.tv portal. It is planned that the guests will perform a composition together, create an art object, write “shufutinki” to each other and be able to take pictures in bunches of mountain ash. A solemn “turning of the calendar” is also planned.

At the same time, an autograph session will be held in Moscow with Shufutinsky and the authors of the September 3 comic book trilogy in the multiversopera genre. The trilogy was released by Wizart comics.

Prepared for September 3 and in the Kuban. Graffiti with Mikhail Shufutinsky returned in Krasnodar. Street art with a famous chanson performer was on the fence, but disappeared in early August. On the evening of August 31, residents of Krasnodar said on social networks that the graffiti with Shufutinsky had returned to its original place. Next to the image of the singer appeared the inscription “Shufik is alive” and lines from the song.

Again they joke about the track in social networks.

Someone started preparing yesterday, September 2.

Users also leave ironic comments, as well as publish new memes.

For the first time the song “Third of September” was performed in the 90s. Igor Krutoy brought it to Shufutinsky in 1993, and Igor Nikolaev wrote the words for the composition. The track in 1994 was included in Shufutinsky’s solo album “Walk, soul.”

Then the song did not gain much popularity among the singer’s fans. The second birth of the song is believed to have occurred 13 years ago, when in 2010 a photograph of Rick Ross, a black American hip-hop artist who looks like Mikhail Shufutinsky, appeared on the Internet, with a quote from the refrain of the song “Third of September”. Later, several domestic performers covered the song. Since then, jokes about September 3 began to appear regularly.
