Italy complicates social life for the unvaccinated: it will not be worth a test to go to cinemas, theaters, discos or bars

The unvaccinated in Italy have it from today more difficult. The Government tries to contain the coronavirus at Christmas with a reinforced health certificate that will only allow the immunized or cured to enjoy leisure and restoration.

The measure will remain in force throughout the country, regardless of the contagion data for each region, until next January 15 to curb the upward trend of the coronavirus in recent weeks. Italy has two types of health certificates as of Monday: the normal ‘Green Pass’, which is awarded to vaccinated, cured or those who have a negative test, and the ‘Super Green Pass’, only in the hands of the first two categories.

The first is essential to use public transport, also rail, entering the job, to sit at the table in dining rooms at work or in hotel restaurants, or to attend parties and ceremonies such as weddings or baptisms.

But the “twist” is established by the second version, the “reinforced”, which in practice excludes those not vaccinated from cinemas, theaters, sporting events, parties, discos or consuming inside bars or restaurants.

In Belgium, some 8,000 people walked the streets of Brussels this Sunday in protest against sanitary measures to contain the coronavirus and the possible obligatory nature of the vaccine while the country faces record rates of accumulated incidence since the beginning of the pandemic, with 2,127 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in fourteen days.

The participants in the march consider the covid digital certificate, necessary in Belgium to access bars, restaurants and some leisure events, “contrary to fundamental rights and discriminatory” and they affirm that “the virus is not under control, but the population is”.

For its part, the United Kingdom has decided tighten travel restrictions to try to limit the importation of the new omicron variant of the coronavirus.

From Tuesday, travelers arriving in the UK They must have passed a covid-19 test prior to their flight, a measure that the Government had withdrawn in October, and another PCR test two days after his arrival. This measure also comes into force today in the US, where, to travel, it will be necessary to present a negative test carried out only 24 hours before.
