Sinister of Wagner’s leader’s plane splashes the Kremlin and keeps Russians in suspense

The tragic accident involving the plane of the leader of the wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhintwo months after he revolted against the Kremlin, leaves many questions unanswered, although some voices openly accuse the president Vladimir Putin of being behind the air disaster.

“The impression was that it was going to end badly, because (the Kremlin) does not forgive him,” a source close to the Russian Presidency commented to the digital Meduza.

The source was referring to Wagner’s failed rebellion against the Kremlin last June, when Putin warned that the “traitors” who organized the riot “They will answer for it.”

Rigorous silence in the Kremlin

Meanwhile, the Russian authorities keep a hermetic silence about the accident involving the Prigozhin plane.

So far, the only high-level official to comment on the event has been the leader of the ruling Just Russia party and former president of the Senate, Sergei Mironov.

“Prigozhin was in the way of many in Russia, in Ukraine and in the West”he wrote on Telegram. According to the politician, “At a certain point, the number of enemies reached its peak.”

“So in the case of Prigozhin it is not that the victim met death by chance, but that they were specific scoundrels.” asserted.

Mironov warned these people that “Whereever they are, the punishment will be inevitable.”

What happened to the plane?

According to one of the preliminary versions, the aircraft, which fell to the ground from a height of 8.5 kilometers, suffered a bomb attack, which would have been hidden in the landing gear compartment of the aircraft.

Meanwhile, another version points to a missile from the anti-aircraft defenses as the possible cause of the sudden crash of Prigozhin’s private jet in which a total of 10 people were traveling, including the “number two” Wagner, Dmitri Utkin.

A technical error or human error is also considered.

As for the possible involvement of Kiev in the event, suggested by some Russian analysts, the Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelenski, flatly denied it today and assured that Kiev “had nothing to do” with the incident.

“We all understand who is behind it”said.

The Russian authorities reported the opening of a criminal case to clarify the incident.

Meanwhile, some relatives of the Wagnerites said in statements to the Fontanka portal that they do not believe the death of Prigozhin, whose body has not yet been identified.

“Could be his double”said a relative of a Wagner fighter, while some investigative journalists also asked not to jump to conclusions about Prigozhin’s death.

Meanwhile, dozens of Russians came today to the Wagner centers in St. Petersburg and Rostov-on-Don, a city taken by the mercenaries during their armed uprising, to lay flowers in memory of the head of that private military company.

Wagner supporters also light candles and place them in a kind of makeshift memorial to Prigozhin, who was 62 years old.

According to images published on social networks, a Wagnerite burst into tears after laying a wreath in the Siberian city of Novosibirsk, where the group of mercenaries opened an office last March.

“Best in Hell”

Prigozhin himself, who was being treated for stomach cancer, according to the Western press, spoke on several occasions about his possible death.

“In the last ten years I have gone through moments a hundred times when they had to kill me, but that did not happen. I take life with philosophy”said Wagner’s boss in an interview last May.

A month before the armed rebellion on June 23-24, Prigozhin assured that he did not fear for his life.

When it comes to threats to life and liberty, you have to do what you have to do and let whatever happens happen.” said.

In another recent video, asked about the death, Wagner’s boss responded: “We will all go to hell, but there we will be the best.”
