A plane falling into the void for several seconds before crashing against the floor. It is the video that a witness recorded when witnessing the plane crash in which he hasWagner’s leader dead. The images also show the remains of the apparatus burning on a large esplanade.
The aircraft, which I was flying from Moscow to St. Petersburg, fell in the immediate vicinity of the town of Kuzhenkino. The Emergencies Ministry assured from the outset that 10 people had died, but the event reached a political drift when the agency that coordinates air transport, Rosaviatsiya, identified Yevegni Prigozhin as a possible passenger.
Hours later, the institution released the final list of people on board, with Prigozhin’s name on it. The list published on social networks includes also to a close ally of Prigozhin, Dimitri Utkin.
The Rosaviatsiya agency has opened an investigation, which will happen, among other things, examine flight logs and black boxes. The Investigation Committee has also initiated its own proceedings to determine if there may be any type of criminal responsibility, according to the Interfax agency.
The deadly incident also occurs two months after Prigozhin will challenge Vladimir Putin and lead a mutiny of his mercenaries against the Kremlin. An attempt at rebellion that ended with an agreement for the founder of Wagner to go into exile in Belarus, although in recent days he had reappeared in a video in which he suggested that he was in Africa.
A Wagner-friendly Telegram channel has blamed his death on “traitors to Russia”, while Ukraine has targeted the Russian president directly. The president of the United States, Joe Biden, has not been surprised by the news and, although he has not held him directly responsible, he has slipped that “not many things happen in Russia that do not have Putin behind them.”
