Italy further restricts activities to the unvaccinated, with strengthened certificate

The “super green certificate” will be necessary to access sporting events, discos, parties and public ceremonies until next January 15, and in public transport and commercial areas on weekends. In addition, new control and punitive measures come into force.

As of today, Italy is taking its measures to contain the coronavirus with the new reinforced health certificate, which further restricts activities to the unvaccinated, in addition to increasing controls in buses, metro and shopping areas, the main sources of contagion at Christmas.

The new certificate, held by vaccinated citizens and those who have overcome the disease, will be necessary to access the interior of bars, restaurants, cinemas and theaters, but Also to enter sporting events, discos, parties and public ceremonies, until next January 15O.

The Ministry of Health has already launched an application that allows you to check the validity of the “super green certificate”, as it is called in Italy and with a validity of nine months from the last dose for those vaccinated and six months for those who have been cured of Covid-19.

By cons, the normal certificate, which also includes those with a negative antigen test, will be Mandatory to work, access public transport, enter museums and transit through commercial areas, but not in weekend, when the new pass must be displayed.

Coinciding with the arrival of the reinforced certificate, the New measures decreed by the Ministry of the Interior to increase the controls of both health passes.

The national police, the carabineros (militarized police) and the personnel of the local public transport management bodies will be in charge of requesting the health certificate from metro and bus passengers from the age of 12, which has generated controversy about the School bus.

Minors from that age will have to show it on school buses and the regions have already called for a “moratorium” to “allow everyone to go to school”, a measure that will be examined by the Government, which insists on the need for the media to transport are safe.

Access to bars, restaurants and other entertainment venues will be controlled by local police officers and those who do not have the required certificate for each activity will face fines between 400 and 1000 euros.

The entry into force of these new measures, which also includes the use of masks outdoors in city centers and shopping areas, has promoted vaccination in recent days, in particular of the third or booster doses.

Today 8.6 million have already been provided, which means that 42.25 percent of the population already has the booster, while the number of those immunized with the full schedule exceeds 45.7 million or 84, 76%, waiting for the vaccination of minors between 5 and 11 years to begin next week.

In the last 24 hours, 15,021 new infections and 43 deaths have been registered in Italy.
