nissan is recalling more than 236,000 small cars in USA because the front suspension rods can bend and break causing loss of steering control.
The measure covers some 2020 Sentra compact cars through 2022. Front suspension rods help guide the wheels.
nissanin documents filed Saturday National Highway Traffic Safety Administrationsays that if the poles are bent, they can break and increase the risk of crash.
Owners should contact dealers if they feel the steering wheel is out of position or vibrating. Initially, dealers will inspect and replace all bent or broken rods. Once a new design is made available, they will replace the left and right stems for free.
The company will send letters to owners from October 5. Another letter will be sent once parts are available.
many of the same vehicles were recalled in 2021 to fix the same issue. Cars repaired at that previous opportunity will receive the new parts when they are ready.
