The Russian Foreign Ministry today warned the West against using the current situation in Russia by the armed rebellion of the mercenaries of the wagner group to achieve their “Russophobic” goals.
“We warn Western countries against any hint of the possible use of the internal Russian situation to achieve their Russophobic goals,” the department headed by Sergei Lavrov said in a statement.
“Such attempts are useless and will not find an answer even in Russia nor among sensible political forces abroad. We are convinced that in the near future the situation will find a solution worthy of the age-old wisdom of the Russian people and the Russian state.”, he added.
Foreign Affairs stressed that the rebellion will not prevent Russia achieve “all goals and objectives” of the war in Ukraine.
“Our country will continue its sovereign course to guarantee its security, protect its values, strengthen its prestige in the international arena and create a just multipolar world order,” emphasized.
Russian diplomacy stressed that the “attempt” of armed rebellion in the country “causes strong rejection in Russian society, which strongly supports the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin”.
“In fact, the adventurous aspirations of the conspirators are aimed at destabilizing the situation in Russia, destroying our unity, and undermining Russia’s efforts aimed at ensuring reliable international security. Therefore, the rebellion plays into the hands of Russia’s external enemies.” concluded.
