Saudi newspaper claims that Luís Castro has an agreement to lead Cristiano Ronaldo’s team

The Portuguese Luís Castro may even be leaving the Botafogo. This Saturday, the newspaper El Arriyadiyah reported that the commander of the leader of the Brazilian championship reached an agreement to coach Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club in Saudi Arabia.

The vehicle claims that negotiations are already well underway and that the hiring should be announced at the beginning of July. For the time being, the coach will remain in Rio de Janeiro until the 30th, the date of the duel against Magallanes-CHI, for the Copa Sudamericana.

Al-Nassr’s interest in Luís Castro has been going on for a few weeks now. Managers have been looking for a new manager since Rudi Garcia was sacked in April. In the Saudi Championship, the team finished the competition in second place, behind Al-Ittihad.

At Botafogo since March 2022, Luís Castro managed to score a good job this season and make the cariocas go to the top of the Brasileirão. The team has 27 points in 11 rounds and is isolated in the first position.

Glorioso’s next appointment will be against vice-leader Palmeiras. In case of victory, Luís Castro’s men could open up eight points of advantage for Alviverde. The match is scheduled for 4 pm (Brasília time) this Sunday, at Allianz Parque.
