In the United States abandoned the version of the laboratory origin of coronavirus

The United States has rejected the version that the incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China led to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was reported in a declassified copy of the report submitted to Congress, excerpts are cited by TASS.

The text notes that US intelligence agencies have concluded that SARS-CoV-2 was not developed as a biological weapon. Intelligence does not have any information that the incident at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China led to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, the special services do not have direct evidence that before the pandemic there was an incident that was associated with the staff of the institute and could lead to the spread of the virus.

As stated in the report, “the Wuhan Institute was engaged in genetic engineering, but there is no indication of the use of SARS-CoV-2 in experiments.”

Note that in 2021, the FBI concluded that the virus could have escaped from one of the Chinese laboratories. The US Department of Energy, which controls the work of all 17 leading biological laboratories in the country, also reported that the coronavirus could have been of laboratory origin and spread as a result of an accidental leak in one of the laboratories in Wuhan.
