Kayley Stead, 27, decided to continue her wedding party even though the groom stood her up at the altar. The young woman made her entrance in her wedding dress, gave a speech and even did traditional dances.
The lack of a boyfriend did not prevent the woman born in Portmead, Swansea, United Kingdom, from going ahead with the party that cost more than 13,000 dollars. Groomsmen, bridesmaids and family members enjoyed and supported Stead throughout the night, according to The Sun.

After hearing that her boyfriend, Kallum Norton, 21, was missing, Kayley decided to dry her tears, put on her makeup and told everyone: “I will.”
His attitude was supported by everyone, including friends of the groom who never appeared. “The day became a day that I will always be proud of. I can really look back and smile because it will always remind me that I don’t need someone else’s love to be happy.”

Stead “had spent all this money, I was looking forward to food, a dance with my dad, spending time with my family, so why not?” and he decided to continue with the party. Ella’s sister Katie called the groomsmen and arranged the reception with a few small details: it will be held without the groom.
“I didn’t want to remember the day as a complete sadness. The videographer said ‘Why don’t you girls continue? You’ve spent all this money, you’re not going to get it back, all your guests are there,” she recalled.
The party was held at the Oxwich Bay Hotel, Gower, Glamorgan, and the young woman’s sister told the guests what had happened and they supported her. So much so that the photo booth displayed a sign “Mr. and Mrs.”, but was quickly replaced by “Kayley’s Shindig” (Kayley’s party).
Instead of sharing her first dance with her boyfriend, Kayley danced with her father, Brian, 71, and his brothers Craig, 47, Matthew, 46, Gary, 46, and another Craig, 43. Also, in instead of splitting the cake, he hit it.
Kayley and Kallum were in a relationship for almost four years. In August 2020 they got engaged and the wedding was scheduled for this September 15.
The young woman was hoping that the boyfriend would appear
The night before the wedding, Kayley stayed in an AirBnB, celebrating with her bridesmaids, while Kallum Norton and his groomsmen stayed in a trailer near the venue.
But, he left the caravan that night and never returned, leaving the groomsmen to contact the bridal party the next day with the news.
“I found my phone and saw that I had a missed call from his mother. I called her back and she was crying and she told me that he had gone for a car ride in the early hours of the morning and that she was gone,” Stead recounted.
However, the hopeful young woman suggested that “throughout our relationship, he would sometimes go for a walk or a drive to clear his head when he was nervous. I said that he would be there and reassured the girls. He honestly believed that he was going to be there.”
Until Kallum’s father called and broke the terrible news that his son was not going to show up for the wedding.
Kayley’s friends set up a GoFundMe page to help with the costs so she could recoup some of the $13,000 she spent on the wedding. (YO)
