German authorities confirmed today the third case of the omicron variant on Germany after learning the result of the sequencing of the PCR test carried out on a passenger who had landed on the 21st at Frankfurt airport from South Africa.
“Sequencing has confirmed the result. In the suspicious case reported yesterday morning, it is the omicron variant ”, informed the Minister of Social Affairs of the federal state of Hesse, Kai Klose, through his Twitter account.
The traveler, with the full schedule of the Covid-19 vaccine, began to develop symptoms throughout the week.
Last night the Bavarian Ministry of Health confirmed the first two cases of the omicron variant in Germany in two passengers who landed on November 24 at Munich airport from South Africa.
A ministerial spokeswoman also reported that two foreign nationals who arrived from Cape Town on Thursday tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 and are isolated in a hotel as they do not have residence in Bavaria and are waiting to know the results of the sequencing.
