Latam and Delta Air lines announce four new routes between South America and the United States

The group Latam and Delta Airlines have announced that they are going to incorporate four new routes between South America and USA and a 75% increase in the passenger transport capacity of its global connectivity networks, within the framework of the strategic JV agreement between the main airlines of the Americas.

In the case of Latam Airlines Peruon October 29 flights will be introduced three times a week (Wednesday, Friday and Sunday), between its hub in Lima and Delta’s hub in Atlanta (subject to government approval).

On the same date, Latam Airlines Colombia will launch a new daily service between Miami and Medellín, which will operate with Airbus 320 aircraft equipped with Premium Economy and Economy cabins. In addition, Delta will relaunch service between its Atlanta hub and Cartagena, Colombia. This route will start on December 22 and will offer three weekly flights.

The strategic JV agreement between the Latam group and Delta has resulted in the networks with the best connectivity in the industry, uniting more than 120 South American destinations served by the Latam group with the more than 200 North American destinations served by Delta”, indicate both companies.

The routes that are incorporated into the joint network will allow you to explore Atlanta, Miami, Lima, Cartagena, Bogotá, and Medellín, and will increase the opportunities to connect with other interesting destinations on both continents.. From Atlanta, Delta offers more than 780 daily flights to 143 destinations in the US and Canada. From Miami, Delta offers more than 30 daily flights to 11 destinations in the US, while the Latam group offers 102 weekly flights from Miami to 5 cities in South America”, they add.

In this sense, they mentioned that from Medellín, Latam operates 33 daily flights to 11 destinations in South America, while from Lima, it offers more than 108 daily flights to 37 destinations in the region.

Likewise, the two companies reported that since they began their strategic agreement in October 2022, both have increased their capacity by 75% and it is the number 1 JV in market share, measured in passengers, and in number of flights between New York and Los Angeles on the one hand and certain countries in South America.
