The European Union delivered this Friday the Sustainability Seal to 20 Colombian and 20 European companies that belong to the Low Carbon Business Action (LCBA) program in Colombiawhich seeks joint work between companies for the decarbonization of their industrial processes.
LCBA “is a project that seeks for European and Colombian companies to meet, connect and obtain technology to have more efficient and sustainable processes that reduce their carbon footprints”, the director of LCBA Colombia, omar siabatto.
Likewise, the executive stressed that Colombian companies “are very committed to the sustainable transition“, although “economic difficulties and what has been happening in the world and the country”.
The program works in countries such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Canada to support strategies to reduce carbon emissions that deal with climate change.
Recognition of sustainability
In the panel “Our Sustainable Pact”, held in Bogotá, Companies such as Industrias Haceb, Cemex Colombia, Vanti, Agropecuaria Aliar and Andercol were certified due to the reduction of its carbon footprint, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, use of waste, generation from renewable sources and circular economy.
The share of European companies was made up of companies such as Biogasmetano, 2G Energy, Awite Untha, Circontrol and Recap.
“We search for a good European company and focus on the technology that makes it possible for this deal to close.”, explains Siabatto, who assures that it is very important “decarbonize industrial processes in companies because it is in a sector that contributes significantly to the carbon footprint”.

Industrias Haceb, a renowned Colombian home appliance company, is committed to well-being and progress by providing sustainable solutions to its consumers, which is why it has been “exploring technologies that allow the use of fuels with lower emissions than conventional ones.”
“Natural gas is a clean fuel, but there are also viable opportunities such as the use of hydrogen”, pointed out the head of Regulatory Affairs of Haceb, Carlos Chicawho explained that the recognition they received is due to the development of “burners that run 100% on hydrogen”.
Chica explains that this project was born in collaboration with the Italian company Sabaf and that the burners “They work safely, are even more efficient than conventional natural gas, and emit no greenhouse gases.”.
