The first hire of Napoli for next season is not a new face. This Thursday, the club announced the permanent purchase of striker Giovanni Simeone, who was loaned to the Italian champions on the title journey.
The Argentine was loaned to Napoli from Hellas Verona at the start of the season, with an option to buy at a pre-arranged amount. Now, Diego Simeone’s eldest son will stay in the team until June 2026, with the possibility of extending his bond for another year.

Altogether, the leaders of the last Italian Championship paid 15.5 million euros (about R$ 81 million at current exchange rates) for the striker, including the loan and contract amounts.
The number 18’s permanence in Naples could also be a sign of Victor Osimhen’s future. Holder in charge of attack, the scorer attracted the eyes of other giants in Europe and could leave the team in case of an advantageous proposal.
Simeone was a substitute for most of the season, but was the immediate replacement for the Nigerian striker. In all, the 27-year-old has scored nine goals in 33 appearances for Napoli.
