Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi will be fired this Wednesday with a state funeral in the cathedral of Milanwhere representatives of the main political institutions of the country will attend.

Berlusconi, sick with leukemia,passed away Monday around 9:30 a.m.at the Milan hospital, where he was admitted on Friday after a worsening of his state of health. The coffin was moved around noon to his mansion in Arcorefor an ardent chapel prior to the official ceremonies.

The Archdiocese of Milan has confirmed that the Duomo will host the state funeral, presided over by Archbishop Mario Delpini. Among the attendees will be the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, according to sources quoted by the AdnKronos news agency.

The Government has also decreed that on Wednesday be a day of mourning nationwidewhich will mean that the flags will fly at half mast in public buildings in memory of a political figure who has marked recent political history in Italy and who has also had special weight in the business sphere.
