He Manchester City is the most valuable football club in Europeunseating from first place to real Madridaccording to a report published on Thursday, two days after Josep Guardiola’s team played the final of the Champions League before him Inter of Milan.
The Football Benchmark report establishes a ranking of the 32 main clubs on the continent based on a series of criteria, which include, for example, their financial state, the value of the squad and the importance of their broadcast market.
Manchester City is first on the list with an estimated value of 4.073 million euros (4.390 million dollars). Thus, it surpasses Real Madrid, winner of the Champions League last year, whose estimated value was 4.006 million euros (4.317 million dollars), in second place.
Real Madrid had held first place in the previous four years. Manchester City gained five places from the 2022 list, mainly thanks to the financial results of the 2021-2022 financial year, the report states.
Third place in the ranking is for Manchester United, with 3.930 million euros (4.236 million dollars), ahead of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
