“Take it or leave it”: Qatar issues ultimatum to buy Manchester United

Qatar, via Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al-Thanihas presented a fifth offer, in the form of “take it or leave it”, to try to buy the Manchester Utd and, if it is not accepted, they will abandon their interest in the English club.

According to the British press, this offer, although it improves the previous one, does not reach the 6,000 million pounds (6,700 million euros) that the family glazer He asks to get rid of the club he has owned since 2005.

In case of not being accepted, the billionaire Jim Ratcliffe, owner of the company INEOS, would remain as the only candidate to win United. He is already in talks with the American bank Rainewho is carrying out the operation to advance the transaction and who already managed the sale of Chelsea last year.

Since the united was put up for sale in November, Qatar and Ratcliffe have been the most interested in its purchase and now the process is entering its final stretch, due to the proximity of the transfer market, which begins on June 14, and the need to offer guarantees to Erik Ten Hag’s project.

The main difference between the Qatari offer and that of ratcliffe is that while the sheikh wants to take over 100% of the club, ratcliffe has offered the possibility to glazer to retain part of the shareholding of the united.
