“The national government has already formally received the request for the extradition of aliases Otoniel by the United States. For the national government, Otoniel He was one of the most wanted drug traffickers in the country and offered a reward of up to 3,000 million pesos (almost 800,000 dollars) on his head; while for the United States, which has him on the “Clinton List”, he is one of the most dangerous drug traffickers and money launderers in the world, for whom he offered up to 5 million dollars.
According to the Police, the Gulf Clan, the country’s largest criminal and drug trafficking gang, traffics 20 tons of cocaine on average per month and sends it, through intermediaries and other international cartels, to at least 28 countries.
On the other hand, President Duque also said that so far this year 595 tons of cocaine have been seized, a figure above 500 tons in all of 2020.
