Venezuela and Brazil set up a work table to review cooperation agreements

The government of Venezuela and a delegation from the Agency Brazilian of Cooperation, which is located in Caracas, set up a work table on Thursday to review and update current cooperation agreements, reported the vice minister for Latin America, Rander Peña.

The official pointed out in his Twitter account that the installation was carried out with the participation of “different” Venezuelan institutions, which he did not specify.

Likewise, he said that the work table fulfills the mandates of the presidents of Venezuela and Brazil, Nicolás Maduro and Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, respectively, to update the cooperation map in all areas and adjust them to the new stage that is taking place. is starting between both nations.

Maduro received this delegation of Brazilwith the purpose of “establish, once again, the exchange of fluid dialogue spaces” between Venezuela and Brazil, which resumed their relations last January, after four years suspended.

The delegation, which arrived in Caracas on Wednesday morning, was received by the president, who stressed that they worked in “a diverse development agenda” for the benefit of both countries, which share a border.

The Presidency’s press team reported, in a statement, that the Brazilian delegation, which visited the Miraflores Palace, seat of government, was headed by the director of the Brazilian Cooperation Agency, Ruy Pereira, and the charge d’affaires of the Embassy of Brazil in Caracas, Flavio Helmold Macieira.

The relationships between Venezuela and Brazilsuspended since 2019, were resumed with the return of Lula da Silva to the Presidency of the South American giant, which he took office on January 1.

Since then, officials from the two nations have held multiple meetings with the aim of rebuilding bilateral cooperation.
