Erdogan warns of the possibility of “a new Chernobyl” in Ukraine


The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoganwarned this Thursday of the risk of a new nuclear catastrophe that could result from the russian invasion in ukrainewhere are they several atomic power plants, fighting target.

Guterres assured that the secretary general has the capacity to support any mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Zaporizhia, under the condition that Russia and Ukraine agree.

Zelensky asks to demilitarize Zaporizhia

Volodímir Zelenski asked António Guterres this Thursday that the organization guarantee the demilitarization of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant, under the control of Russian troops, to prevent a catastrophe from occurring there.

Zelenski affirmed that the “deliberate terror” of the Russian troops in that facility “may have catastrophic global consequences for the whole world“, according to the office of the Ukrainian president.

In addition, Zelensky said that the UN “has to guarantee the security of that strategic place, its demilitarization and the complete liberation of russian troops“.
