A little over a year ago, strong rainy caused the collapse of one of the walls of the citadel built by the Chachapoyas culture in the Amazon region.

The Toribio Rodríguez de Mendoza National University of Amazon delivered the meteorological installation thanks to an agreement with the Ministry of Culture, “with the aim of protecting, safeguarding, registering, conserving, restoring and disseminating the national cultural heritage.”

This university was in charge of its installation and will also carry out the proper maintenance.

The station allows the measurement of 17 meteorological parameters, such as atmospheric pressure, temperature, humidity, solar radiation, wind speed and direction, and amount of rainfall.

In addition, through another agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the World Monuments Fund (WMF PERU), the installation of a second weather station is planned in the coming days.

The person in charge of the Archaeological Research Program of this cultural heritage, José Bastante, recently reported that the programming for the conditioning and general maintenance of the entire Monumental Archaeological Zone is already in place. kuelap.
