a intentional hit-and-run during a Christmas parade in the state of Wisconsin (United States) has left five dead and 48 wounded, including two minors. The Police, who have arrested the driver, have assured that it is not a terrorist attack.

The event has occurred on the 16:40 local time when an off-road vehicle has crossed a Christmas parade that was taking place in the American city of Waukesha, (Wisconsin). Dance groups, high school bands and politicians marched along the town’s main street outside Milwaukee, an event that had been suspended in previous editions due to the pandemic.

Although at first they have pointed out that it could be a terrorist attack, the Police have ruled out this hypothesis. “There is no proof that this is a terrorist incident,” Police Department Chief Dan Thompson said at a news conference.

In that sense, it has explained that the detainee, a 39-year-old man, was involved in a “domestic altercation” before charging into the crowd.
