Who gives more? Qatar and Ineos present their final offers for Manchester United

The Sheikh of Qatar Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and Jim Ratcliffe, owner of Ineos, presented their final offers to buy Manchester United at midnight this Friday.

The Qatari offer reaches 5,000 million pounds (5,650 million euros), still far from the 6,000 million pounds (6,800 million euros) requested by the Glazer family -owners of the club-, but above what the Chelsea (4,250 million pounds) and above what the NFL team Washington Commanders cost (4,800 pounds), the most expensive sports team in history to date.

Ratcliffe, for his part, is only interested in taking over a part of United, around 50%, leaving 20% to the Glazers, which would not satisfy part of the fans who have demonstrated fiercely against their owners in recent years. last years.

Now the ball is in the court of the Glazers, who will have to analyze the proposals and decide which one best suits their interests, to put an end to this sales process that began more than five months ago.

The Glazers bought United in 2005 for around £800m and have since made it one of the most valuable clubs in the world, in exchange for huge net debt and a sporting slump since 2013, the year it was Alex Ferguson left.
