The Swiss bank Credit Suisse, currently in the process of merging with its rival UBS after being acquired by it, announced Thursday that its current investment director, Michael Strobaek, will leave the position and will be replaced shortly by Burkhard Varnholt.
Strobaek, who had held the position for a decade, “has decided to look for new opportunities away from this bank”, indicated a statement from Credit Suisse, which indicated that the new chief investment officer will assume the position on May 8.
According to the statement, Varnholtwho has worked in different positions of responsibility at the Zurich bank in two periods (between 1996 and 2006 and from 2016 to the present), will serve as support in the current transition that the bank is undergoing, acquired on March 19 by UBS at the request of of the Swiss Government to avoid its bankruptcy.
Varnholtdetailed the entity, will work under the orders of Francesco deFerrarihead of the wealth management business of Credit Suisse.
