Peru will assume the presidency of the Andean Community in six months

In six months, Peru will assume the Pro Tempore Presidency of the Andean Community.

This was reported today during a meeting with members of the Andean Parliament at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where the Chancellor of the Republic, Oscar Maúrtua, was decorated with the Simón Bolívar medal for Latin American Integration.

Foreign Minister Maúrtua stated that the Pro Tempore Presidency of Peru in the Andean Community will allow determining actions to strengthen regional development, as well as integration in member countries, giving priority to economic reactivation and social impact with attention to environmental sustainability.

During the meeting at the Torre Tagle Palace, emphasis was placed on illegal fishing issues, homologation of university degrees addressed in the Andean Parliament.

The ceremony was attended by the Andean parliamentarians, Fernando Arce, Vice President, as well as the Secretary General, Eduardo Chiliquinga and Gustavo Pachecho Villar from Peru.
